Configuring ZTE ZXDSL 831 A II router/modem for port forwarding

Configuring the ZTE ZXDSL 831 A II is like configuring any other router.

* Open a browser.

* Type in the router's address.(Usually it is 192.168.1.1)

* Hit enter and you'll get the following screen;

* Observer that it says http://192.168.1.1/home.html at the address bar.

* Apparently, there are 2 modes fr configuring the router. 1. Beginner mode and 2. Expert mode.(I am naming them. Its not standard.)

* To open the Expert mode change the address to http://192.168.1.1/home1.html
(add 1 after home i.e "home1.html")

* Then you'll get a similar page but you'll get a lot more options in configuration menu.

* In the expert mode, go to configuration - > Advanced Security. Then you'll see the following screen.

* Observer that there is a link called "Port Forwarding" at the top. You guessed it. Click on it and you'll find yourself here:

* Now, click on the Add button and you'll get to the following screen

* Here you can add the ports to forward through. Setting up ports depends upon the application. So you should refer to a guide for that purpose.

I hope this guide was useful.
